VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations

May 8th marked the significant 80th anniversary of VE Day — a momentous occasion to honour the end of World War II in Europe and to reflect on the sacrifices made for peace and freedom.

To commemorate this historic event, our homes were beautifully adorned with red, white and blue decorations. The patriotic atmosphere was further enhanced by stunning artwork, created by our residents with the support of Sarah from The Painted Ladies.

In true 1940s spirit, we held celebratory ‘street’ parties featuring live music and traditional afternoon cream teas. Residents and staff sang and danced all afternoon.

It was a day of joy, reflection, and togetherness — a fitting tribute to a pivotal moment in our history.
