Senior Management

Kevin & Lynda Dewhurst
Kevin, alongside his wife Lynda, started the company in 2003 when they purchased Whitebriars. Prior to this, Kevin had spent most of his career in the construction industry, before he decided he needed a career change. Whilst Kevin & Lynda did not have a background in care prior to this, they quickly identified the areas of care that were failing and made it their mission to ensure Coast Care Homes Ltd was a leader in providing innovative outcomes and outstanding person-centred care. Kevin & Lynda have both been ever-present at all services and supports the management teams daily, offering experience and guidance. Kevin & Lynda’s inspiration came from David Sheard from Dementia Care Matters, and the ethos instilled is present in all the services
In January 2026, Kevin & Lynda made the decision to appoint Danielle as Joint-CEO alongside Kevin. This move allows Kevin to support and mentor Danielle in this role, whilst ensuring the consistency of the company for the future.

Danielle Henderson
Danielle started with Coast Care in November 2010, starting at Whitecliff Care Home as a Care Assistant. Danielle has a Level 5 Degree in Health & Social Care as well as a Level 4 Degree in Teaching. Danielle has worked in several roles within the company, including as Manager at Whitecliff Care Home & Whitebeach Care Home. Throughout her time with Coast Care, Danielle has shown exceptional standards in the care provided, as well as in her management of challenging behaviours.
Danielle’s strengths are in her standards of care and her ability to find a way to manage complex care packages and promote a positive ethos within the team. Danielle has helped to foster efficient and hardworking teams, whose primary focus is ensuring that the residents have the best lived-experience. Danielle currently is involved in an Operational oversite role for all the services, however, has day to day involvement with Whitebriars Care Home, Whitebeach Care Home & Whitecliff Nursing Home, supporting the management teams at these services.
Danielle stepped into the joint CEO role alongside Kevin in January 2026, which allows us to solidify Coast Care’s commitment to our Person-Centred Ethos moving forward

Bill Poore
Bill started with Coast Care in September 2012, starting at Whitecliff Care Home as a Care Assistant. Bill joined Coast Care after caring for his grandad who suffered from Dementia & Parkinson’s Disease. Bill has a Level 5 Degree in Health & Social Care and has worked in several roles within the company, including as Manager at Coast Community Care, Whitebriars and Coast Care Centre. Bill has helped to foster a caring culture within the homes and has helped to develop processes that allow the Coast Care Culture to be given to clients who have Complex Nursing needs.
Bill’s strengths are in his focus on promoting high revenues and increasing profitability, contributing to increased revenue streams across the services managed. Bill currently is involved in an Operational oversite role for all the services, however, has day to day involvement with Coast Care Centre & Coast Community Care, supporting the management teams at these services.
Bill stepped into the Chief Operating Officer role in January 2026, allowing the company to continue growing and developing, whilst maintaining our commitment to giving the highest level of care to our service users

Lindsey Sherwood
Lindsey started with Coast Care in January 2022, joining the company as an Operations Manager. Lindsey has a Level 5 Degree in Health & Social Care and has a wealth of experience in care. Prior to joining Coast Care Homes, had been overseeing a group of small Learning Disability homes. Lindsey is passionate about person-centred care and it’s because of this, that she has been such a good fit at Coast Care Homes. Lindsey’s strengths are in her calm and caring nature, which allows her to never be flustered and is excellent at problem solving in moments of difficulty.
Lindsey has also shown strength in her staff management skills, in being able to effectively communicate Coast Care Homes vision for all staff joining the company. Lindsey currently is involved in an Operational oversite role for all the services, however, has day to day involvement with Whitebriars Care Home, Whitebeach Care Home & Whitecliff Nursing Home, supporting the management teams at these services.

Rita Povey
Rita has worked with Coast Care Homes Ltd since 2005, not long after it’s inception in 2004, back when the original home Whitebriars Care Home was the only operation. Rita started by carrying out all our payroll and HMRC PAYE duties and has continued to take on further responsibilities as the company has grown over the many years. Today her role is as Chief Financial Officer. She uses her wealth of experience and knowledge, along with a methodical and organized approach to monitor all of our Payroll, Bookkeeping, Financial responsibilities and obligations in order. Rita has the assistance and support of our Accounts Manager Jo, and Accounts Assistant Clare and looks forward to continuing her great work with the Finance team and the wider Coast Care family, of which she is an integral part of the team.

Poppy Bellchambers
Poppy joined Coast Care Homes in July 2015, initially as an activities coordinator. Poppy has since taken on a more senior role, having oversight and a leading role in guiding the Activities & Outcomes across the whole company. Poppy has been crucial in helping to develop a robust and varied activities program, which has resulted in services user quality of life improving. Poppy is also heavily involved in placements across the company, Poppy is ingrained in Coast Care’s culture and ethos and is very good at passing this information over to visitors and prospective service users. Poppy’s biggest strengths are her creativity, flexibility and ambition to ensure that the service users quality of life is the key focus and she is always pushing the boundaries of the outcomes we can provide.

Michael Lee
Mike worked for Coast Care Homes between 2009 & 2021, initially starting as an Activities Coordinator at Whitebriars, before going on to work in managerial roles at Whitecliff, Whitebeach, Coast Community Care & Coast Care Centre. Mike was a fundamental part of Coast Care Homes developing a culture and ethos that put the service users at the heart of everything we do. Mike’s strengths lie in his ability to promote a positive and caring environment and in his attention to detail and methodical way of working
Trustees

Kevin Dewhurst
As well as serving on the Board of Directors, Kevin will also serve as the chair of the trustee board. Having successfully run Coast Care Homes Ltd and grown it to its current size, Kevin’s knowledge and experience is going to be invaluable, to ensure the efficient running of Coast Care Homes Ltd. Kevin’s role as Chair of the Trustee Board, will be to guide and support the board on their journey and instil in them the knowledge to succeed in their roles.

Tee Small
Tee started with Coast Care in August 2020, originally joining the company as an Admin Assistant at Coast Care Centre, before becoming then Co-Manager in June 2023. Tee joined Coast Care Centre during the pandemic, assisting the service to successfully manage over 350 admissions and discharges within the first year. Tee has worked in various care settings since 2004 and has lots of experience working closely with children who suffer from profound physical disabilities. Tee’s strengths lie in her strong commercial focus, which has helped Coast Care Centre reach record income levels. Tee has also brought a wealth of knowledge in Complex Conditions, which has been a key reason why Coast Care Centre has been able to successfully complete packages for clients with complex needs.

Michael Lee
As well as serving on the Board of Directors, Mike will also serve on the trustee board. Mike has been brought in as a trustee, as he is someone who completely understands Coast Care Homes ethos values and vision and also understands the Care sector, through his years of experience. In his current role, Mike is working on numerous projects for the company, including building the reputation and awareness of Coast Care Homes Ltd with out-of-area brokerage teams, increasing the feed of referrals Coast Care will receive, for service users with complex and specialist care and behavioural needs.

Vanessa Jardine
Ness has worked for Coast Care Homes in various roles since 2012. Ness is the Deputy Manager at Whitebriars Care Home and has helped develop the home’s loving and homely environment. Ness has also helped to progress the home to manage service users with complex behavioural needs, and do so in a way that retains the homes calm environment. Ness has worked across 3 of the homes within the group and has a deep understanding of Coast Care Homes’ vision for care and the culture we want in all of the homes. Ness’ strengths lie in her strong regulatory and administrative knowledge, as well as her instincts to know good care and identify areas that the home needs to develop in.

Phil Hale
Phil is serving on the Coast Care Homes Ltd Trustee Board as an Independent Trustee. Phil has worked in health and social care for over 45 years. Phil worked as a Social Worker from 1979 until 1991. In 1992 Phil moved into regulation and became a Childrens Inspector in 1992, before working with Adults Services in 1997. Phil continued to work as an inspector with the CQC up until his retirement in 2010. Phil continues to work as an independent care consultant, working with providers of health and social care. Phil has also been a volunteer with Healthwatch East Sussex for over 10 years and lead on some of their projects. Phil has carried two pieces of research on behalf of NHS England and local NHS Commissioners, through Healthwatch East Sussex. Phil also currently sits on the Safeguarding Board of a national charity for older people.

Alicia Aling
Alicia joined Coast Care in 2020 as an Admin Assistant and is now Manager at Whitebriars. Known for her dedication, compassion and commitment, she ensures residents feel truly cared for and supported every day.

Vanessa Jardine
Vanessa joined Coast Care in 2012, working across three homes before becoming Deputy Manager at Whitebriars. She brings regulatory skill and compassion, supporting complex needs while maintaining a calm, homely environment.

Louis Stannett
Louis started in 2020 during the pandemic as a Care Assistant. With personal experience caring for his grandfather with Parkinson’s, he worked his way up to Co-Manager, known for his friendly, outgoing and caring nature.

Tee Small
Tee joined Coast Care in 2020 as an Admin Assistant, becoming Manager in 2023. With care experience since 2004, she blends commercial focus and complex care knowledge, driving success at Coast Care Centre.

Rukayya Quin
Rukayya joined in 2013 as a Care Assistant and has progressed through several roles to become Manager of Whitebeach. Hardworking and committed, she builds excellent relationships with families, residents and her staff team.

Cristina Cunanan
Cristina joined from the Philippines in 2022 as a Care Assistant. Her compassion, empathy and efficiency quickly stood out. Now Deputy Manager at Whitebeach, she continues to bring the same dedication to residents and staff.

Lisa Brown
Lisa joined in 2018 as a Care Assistant and is now Manager at Whitecliff Nursing Home. Highly efficient, clinically skilled and respected by health professionals, she leads with calmness and builds strong, supportive teams.

Gopinath Sellapan
Gopinath joined in 2022 as a Care Assistant and is now Deputy Manager at Whitecliff. He leads by example, managing tasks with skill and resilience, and is known for his ability to guide the team effectively.
Community Care Team

Beth Ball
Beth joined in 2014 as a Care Assistant, becoming Deputy Manager before stepping into the Manager role at Coast Community Care. She is hardworking, caring and quick to develop new skills, leading her team with dedication.

Nauroz Abdullah
Nauroz joined in 2022 as a Care Assistant, working across services before becoming Care Coordinator. He is skilled, calm under pressure and highly respected for his ability to support service users with a steady presence.

Emily Sherwood
Emily joined in 2024 as a Housekeeper and quickly embraced Coast Care’s ethos of compassion. Now a Care Coordinator, she brings enthusiasm, kindness and a friendly approach to supporting service users in the community.

Maria Lim
Maria started in 2024 as a Community Care Assistant, excelling through her caring nature and professionalism. Voted Employee of the Year by colleagues, she is now Care Coordinator, developing strongly in her leadership role.
