Activities & Events for Individual Needs

Our experienced Activity Co-ordinators ensure a wide variety of activities and events are on offer tailored for individual needs and requests. Having memory loss for example doesn’t mean that a resident will not be involved in activities, it means that we have activities on offer that suit their needs as well as general activities that all can enjoy.

Our activity program is designed to ensure that every resident, whatever their ability or skills, has the opportunity to participate in something creative, educational or simply just fun. The location of our homes in Bexhill and St Leonards also means we are ideally located with a wide variety of attractions that are on offer across Kent and Sussex.

Entertainment/Activities

We have a unique approach to entertainment and activities. Within our local care homes, Whitecliff & Whitebeach in St Leonards, and Whitebriars & Coast Care Centre in Bexhill, we always have lots going on. We welcome you to join us for film afternoons, art clubs, sing-a-longs, gardening club, word games, wii interactive games, flower arranging, race nights etc. Perhaps you would like to join our residents for a meal once in a while, it can be a lunch or tea and cake or supper – our cooks are all exceptionally good at making cakes! It is a lovely way to spend a day with kind, loving care and people with similar interests.

If you would prefer, we can keep the entertainment and activities individual by taking you to places, clubs or friends. Once again, we will match care workers to like minded clients so that you can share those interests. Being from the local Bexhill and Hastings area, they will know the area and places to go.

Minibus Outings

In addition to our Community Care Services, we offer the opportunity to take part in the many outings that we run. We have visited no less than 80 different places in the past year in our bus which has 16 seats and full disabled access. Our drivers are fully trained with East Sussex Country Council and have moving and handling and first aid qualifications. Care workers are on hand to help and the trips vary from a trip to Birling Gap for an ice cream to a day in London seeing the sights from the comfort of the bus with a lunch out en route. There are many places to visit locally in the Bexhill and Hastings area, including museums, gardens, tea shops, pubs, and stunning coastal views. We can even collect you and return you to your door. We have great fun and always return happy and satisfied from our trips. If you would like a partner, friend or carer to come with you, just let us know.

Often we find that a change of scenery, combined with appropriate activities provide the best therapy to increase motivation. This is absolutely essential for any other therapies to succeed. For example, people who have suffered a stroke can very quickly become demoralised with the slow speed of recovery and the fact that they are continuously reminded of the things they can no longer do. The ability to go out and discover new experiences and regain some vital independence can be extremely positive for all involved.
