Residents get creative

Arts and crafts sessionJanuary was a vibrant month filled with creativity and engagement for our residents, offering a diverse range of activities that catered to all interests and abilities. From arts and crafts to gardening, baking, and music, our residents had plenty of opportunities to express themselves and enjoy meaningful experiences.

Art and Craft Sessions:
Our residents loved participating in a variety of art and craft activities, ranging from group sessions to one-on-one experiences in the comfort of their bedrooms. This ensured that everyone had a chance to get involved, regardless of their preferences or abilities. We welcomed Sarah from The Painted Ladies on one of her regular visits. Sarah brought her expertise and creativity to the sessions, supporting our activity teams to deliver outstanding art and craft workshops.

Music, Baking, and Flower Arranging:
In addition to the art sessions, our residents enjoyed musical activities, where they could sing, play instruments, or simply relax and listen. Baking sessions were a hit as residents explored their culinary skills, making pizza’s, shortbread and cookies. Weekly flower arranging also provided a relaxing and therapeutic opportunity, making our communal areas colourful for all to enjoy.

Clay Work and Gardening:
The creative potential continued with clay work, where residents explored their tactile side by shaping and moulding various pieces. Gardening activities also remained a popular choice, allowing residents to connect with nature by planting seeds and watching as we wait from them to grow.

Our activity teams did an exceptional job in running these sessions, ensuring that each activity was accessible and enjoyable for everyone. They also facilitated one-on-one sessions for those who preferred a quieter, more personalised environment. This thoughtful approach made sure all our residents, no matter their level of mobility or energy, had a chance to engage in something they enjoyed.
