More activities April ’26
April was a busy month celebrating Easter as well as many other carefully planned celebrations and activities enabling our residents to have many choices of activities suited to their likes and interests.
During this month we celebrated St Georges day, a patriotic day including reminiscing and afternoon tea. We held an armchair travel session to France. Residents continued to enjoy the weekly intergenerational sessions at Mulberry St Leonards primary school for reading and gardening club.
Special days such as ‘penguin day’ and ‘rainbows and unicorn’ enabled our residents to show their creative talents in art and craft sessions as well as fun facts and a themed quiz.
The regular activities were included in this months planner of; flower arranging, sensory craft work including clay and paper mache work, baking, darts competition, indoor and outdoor gardening, balloon tennis, bowling, pamper afternoons from Natalie our hairdresser, yoga class, flower pressing, local in house church service, food preparation, birthday celebrations including a fancy dress disco, fun music sessions with Dance Hastings and DSES (dementia singing experience Sussex), themed art sessions with Sarah from The Painted Ladies.
The weather was generally very good during April allowing some residents to enjoy Alfresco dining and many bus trips.
A special award was given to Anneka from the Whitebriars activities team, congratulations to her.
