Getting out and about June ’24

Coast Care is dedicated to ensuring that our residents remain active and engaged with the local community, much as they did before coming into our care. To facilitate this, we own and operate two minibuses that offer residents two to three trips every week. Our friendly drivers, Danny and Ian, greet residents warmly and are joined by a member of the activities team and a carer to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable outing. Additional staff accompany the trips if the bus is full.
We also have two wheelchair-accessible cars to accommodate smaller groups or one-on-one personalised trips, allowing for more intimate and person-centered experiences.
In June, we organised visits to several locations including various cafes, supermarkets, garden centres, a bowling alley, a crazy golf course, Combe Haven Holiday Park where we own a holiday home, and a day trip to Brighton’s Sea Life Centre.
Apart from the trips in our vehicles, we also take residents on regular strolls from our homes. Whether it’s a walk along the seafront, a visit to a local park or cafe, a trip to a nearby farm, or simply a chance to stretch our legs, we believe these activities are incredibly beneficial. They help keep our residents moving and provide much-needed fresh air.
We are fortunate to have wonderful gardens at our homes. As soon as the weather is acceptable, we encourage our residents to spend time in the garden areas.
At Coast Care, we believe strongly that all our residents benefit immensely from having regular opportunities to spend time in the local community, maintaining a sense of normalcy and engagement in their daily lives.
