More activities August ’26

Residents took part in a wide range of activities and outings during August.

Some residents enjoyed a special Neil Diamond tribute show at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings, while others enjoyed one-to-one activities, including a visit to a local car show on Bexhill seafront. Our popular bus trips continued throughout the summer, visiting local shops, garden centres, our Combe Haven holiday home, trips out for breakfast were also popular. Excursions were only occasionally postponed due to very hot weather.

We also celebrated Indian Independence Day, giving residents the opportunity to sample a variety of Indian foods, enjoy traditional music, see a staff member dressed in traditional clothing, and learn about Indian customs and traditions.

Throughout August, we welcomed Dance Hastings, The Painted Ladies, Dementia Singing Experience Sussex, Natalie our regular hairdresser, and our local church, who all continued to visit our homes regularly.

Residents enjoyed a fantastic variety of activities, including floor games, making sock puppets, sensory activities, creating lavender bags, flower arranging, word games, flower arranging, baking, birthdays, board games, household chores, food preparation and gardening. We also harvested our homegrown tomatoes and enjoyed an 80s-themed party with a silent disco. Everyone also enjoyed watching the rare spectacle of a solar eclipse.
